Real estate sale prediction
Introduction: When investing in real estate, the ability to understand the value of a home is imperative. Often it takes decades of experience working in a market to develop a sense of a house’s true value, but can a model do it just as well? If so what are the main predictors?
Problem Statement: How can we economically and expeditiously predict a house’s sale price?
Conclusion: One can reasonably predict the sale price of a house in Ames IA during that time period given this dataset, but that does not mean that this model will function well in a different real estate market or in present times. The valuation of real estate tends to go up over time which means the values this model predicts will probably be lower than modern valuations. Also people's preferences in their homes may have changed, for example there has been a shift to preference for smaller homes over the last decade that may have an effect.
reddit classification project
Natural Language Processing Subreddits for Classification. The goal of the project was to create a model that could predict where a post originated between two subreddits. This project involved using an API for reddit to pull 20,000 posts from r/Minnesota and r/Wisconsin and scrubbing those posts from bots and ads. four models were tested with TFID with multinomial naive bayes with the best performance.

Group project
Working with three others from my cohort we accessed the U.S. Energy Information Administration API to gather data on the Texas power grid. Using this data we created a time series model that would predict hourly energy demand.
Capstone project
This project was intended to be a look at virtual economies through a video game called Old School Runescape. Using multiple APIs and web scrapes I pulled together datasets for different items that are traded in a thriving economy.
